One of the World's Most Remote and Unique Ski Touring Adventures

Join us for a one-of-a-kind, six-day ski touring experience aboard the charmingly restored oak boat, Örkin. Set sail for the untouched Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, Iceland's most remote corner, an uninhabited region free from roads and motor vehicles, offering pristine slopes and stunning natural beauty. Your days will be filled with exhilarating ski tours from fjord to fjord, possibly spotting the playful Arctic fox, Iceland's native mammal.

Your home during this adventure is the Örkin, a beautifully refurbished boat providing cosy accommodation and delicious meals to fuel your skiing endeavour. The boat features four cosy cabins, a welcoming common area with dining and gaming options, a well-stocked kitchen, and two toilets, along with a shower and clothes-washing facilities. The boat's captain, Gunnar, is highly experienced in navigating around Iceland and Greenland and is supported by a second crew member, ensuring a secure and prepared journey for small groups.

Relax with onboard activities, enjoy the tranquility on deck, or brave a dip in the icy waters. This exclusive trip, with its blend of adventure and comfort in the remote Icelandic wilderness, promises a truly memorable experience.

Here's a glimpse of what to expect, though keep in mind our itinerary adapts to the weather and conditions for the best experience:

  • Your adventure begins at Ísafjörður harbour.
  • Day 1: We meet at 11:00 for a safety briefing, then set sail for the remote Hornstrandir fjords. Once anchored, we might even get a quick ski run before dinner.
  • Days 2-5: These days are packed with thrilling ski tours across fjords and through Iceland's wild, untouched landscapes. We'll seize every opportunity, possibly skiing down steep couloirs right to the fjord's edge.
  • Day 6: Enjoy one final exhilarating run, then we return to Ísafjörður, arriving in time for your afternoon flight.

This flexible itinerary ensures we make the most of our time in Hornstrandir, always prioritizing safety and the best skiing conditions.
